Haven/Yard

The Parkstone Yacht Club Haven has 232 deep water berths for members. There is also a large Yard used for cruiser winter storage between October and mid April each year. In the summer months the space is used for dinghy and keelboat storage.

In addition to the Haven berths, the Club provides members with moorings in the harbour.

The Club launch Parkstone Pearl provides a service ferrying members to and from these moorings during the sailing season.

There is an onsite chandlery, Quay West Marine, located opposite the main building.
The Haven and Yard Committee (‘HAY’) is the link between the Club’s members using the Haven, Moorings and/or the Yard space to store, use and/or launch their respective boat(s) and the Club’s Haven and Yard teams. The Committee is normally Chaired by the Vice Commodore.

The members of the Committee represent a broad spectrum of the Club’s users and classes although we do ask all the Committee to consider the ‘bigger’ picture when considering matters brought to the Committee. A key element of the HAY’s work is the oversight of the Club’s estate – both on and off the water. This means the HAY needs to maintain a number of members with specific skillsets to deal with infrastructure issues as they arise. Members of the HAY also liaise and work with the Pontoon Gang and the Thursday Gang. The Haven Manager is a member of the Committee but does not carry a vote.

The HAY meets monthly (normally the second Tuesday of the month) to discuss the operations of the above facilities and resolve identified issues.

If you wish to raise a matter with the HAY it is probably easiest to either contact the Vice Commodore ([email protected]) or the Haven Manager ([email protected]) but all members of the HAY will be happy to pass on any issues that are raised with them.
