With a waft of a breeze from the NW tantalising the 8 ILCA sailors that showed a decision to go was made by RO, Peter Gordon ably assisted by Liz
First race with guest appearance by Giles making sure his dad's boat controls are all reset 😆 as gate boat. A very shifty NW N or was it NE of 3 to 8 knots kept eyes out the boat. Going middle to left paid maybe it was the tide? For those that suckered to going right there was no recovery.
Interesting mark roundings with some nice lee bow action in race 2.
Order of finish was Hywel who rocketed down those light air reaches with Giles close pursuit pressured all the way by Alan.
Race 2 saw a rapid windshift as the gate boat David made his way up on port. This caught a few out and left little time to get back onto the correct side.
Giles and Alan tusseled it out at the front closely followed by Chris. Not a day for the heavyweights, that's over 100kg although there is a theory that momentum = mass X velocity. I can say that might be right but without the velocity it fails!
So Race 2 finished with Giles, Alan and Chris taking the line honours.
Good twerking of the course by the RO though the wind was never going to make life easy.
In the words of someone famous , "there's always next week!'
