There was a lot to celebrate on Wednesday. It was fairly warm, the sun was shining, the breeze was a lively SW gusting 29 knots to start and there was plenty of water. David Hartgill led the way over to X and never looked back. Col played second fiddle the whole night and amazingly David seemed to know where he was going, finding Cake with ease. Peter G took an unnecessary navigational detour on the first time up to Latch allowing your author to sneak past in a 6 rig into third place. Cake and Latch featured for a second time, followed by a screaming reach towards Picadilly where an incredibly large flock of guls were feeding on the water. The birds were none too happy as one after another of the ILCAs planed through their table, sending them wheeling in all directions. A gybe was required at the mark, before the long run across the flooding tide to Parkstone Dental and a short beat to the finish where Alan was spotted in the race team. The breeze had eased a bit by the end of the evening, but it was still a cracker of a sail.
