So apparently it is my turn to write the report. It was the 1st perisher of the season. With a good turn out. The sun was shining mike promised us 15knts. Instead the sun was out bit the wind was rather light and shifty coming from the north. Racing was delayed slightly as a number of the regulars felt they could be late.
First race mike started us off being the gate boat. I chose to start a little later which proved the wrong decision arriving at the windward mark way down in the fleet. With Alan rounding the windward mark first. From then on I had to put my concentrating head on so I’m not sure what others were doing as I climbed through the fleet first passing Col, who put up the biggest challenge I would say. Then it was the turn off Andrew I then set my sites on Simon. Who was very upset as I passed him into 3rd on the last gybe. Mike too started off badly and worked his way up. Alan won with Hywel close behind.
The second race I started in the same fashion but second from last round the windward mark only to have Simon behind. Andrew went round first. (Most improved so far this year) Again I had to concentrate. Working my way through the fleet again first having to get passed the 6’s I got the 3rd worrying Alan up the last beat who felt he had to tack on top of me. (we don’t do that sort of thing at PYC) Hywel won with Alan second that time round. Roberta in her 6 was doing a good job at beating most 7’s won both races
