On a glorious "summer's' day in February, a healthy fleet of 17 intrepid ILCA sailors was treated to two excellently managed races by the formidable team of Donald and Mary. In the calm but cunning conditions, the first race was led by Hywell who went on to win ahead of Neil, following Donald's decision to shorten the course. After some course adjustments by D & M the second race got underway. In the continuing shifty conditions there were opportunities to make substantial gains and losses (funny how the same sailors make the gains every time) - no losses for Hywell who again led from start to finish on the water (and that's after a 38-mile bike ride). Chris came 2nd in the 2nd race, and personally I was focused on keeping ahead of Alan in the 2nd race. This was a very enjoyable morning's close racing. Others are probably hoping for more wind next weekend.
